Uganda Police FC first game of the new season ended in a stalemate as the Cops drew 0-0 with Wakiso Giants at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Thursday, 4/12/2020.

The gaffer, Abdallah Mubiru had expected to kickstart the new campaign flawless. It was however, a start and a result that left him disappointed given the lads put up a brilliant display.

“We had a very good display, but the result was disappointing,”said Mubiru.

“I don’t think we deserved to draw this game, we had to win. We wasted four great chances in the first twenty minutes and then lost almost everything.”

It was not a good ending for our captain, Tonny Mawejje’s second home coming. Having relished his return with a spectacular display, the Uganda Cranes midfielder was stretched off following a foot injury towards the end of the first half after an aerial ball struggle that saw him land on a wrong foot.

It was an unpleasant sight, and the coach feels we’ve been delt with a big blow.

“We are saddened by the loss of our captain, (Mawejje) to an injury. We pray to God that he recovers on time”

We travel to Tororo to face MYDA for our next game on Tuesday.
