Uganda Police FC bounced back to top the Uganda Premier league log after a 3-1 victory over Kyetume in a game that was delayed by a heavy downpour for over 20 minutes at Omondi Stadium – Lugogo on Friday evening.

The Cops got their opening goal through winger Odongo Johnson when he pocked home a Muwada Mawejje assist on the half hour mark.

Despite the slippery pitch that was disadvantageous to the hosts’ game plan and tactics, Police continued mounting pressure for the second goal and efforts paid off in the 35th minute.

Baker Buyala later pulled back one for the Slaughters in the 42nd minute but the visitors remained trailing at half.

From recess, the Cops returned stronger pressing the opponents against the gas pedals and sealed the home win thanks to a new signing and debutant forward Muruuli Brian Mayanja’s 73rd minute strike.
