Muwadda Mawejje scored his second goal of the season as Police drew 1-1 with KCCA on Friday at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The Cops opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Dancun Seninde manoeuvred past the KCCA defence and crossed to Muwadda who put us in front.
However, the hosts made a come back in the 72nd minute thought Sadat Anaku’s header.
It was an end to end affair, and although KCCA toughened in the second half, the boys held on for a point.
According to Police gaffer Abdullah Mubiru, things did not go as planned.
“It wasn’t the results we anticipated but its the results we’ve got due to our quality displayed and due to our negligence.
“We got an early lead and then everyone switched off. We got the opportunities in the first half which we didn’t explore.”
While tbe Cops mounted pressure on their Landlords in the first half, it was the opponents who enjoyed the bigger share of the ball in the last 45 minutes.
Abdallah Mubiru made his first substitution in the 44th minute which saw Henry Kisekka come on for Brian Muluuli.
Mubiru also brought in Ben Ocen who was returning from injury to replace Muwadda and Frank Tumwesigye for Johnson Odongo.
Mubiru felt the players didn’t play to their ‘best’ due to fatigue.
“The way the league was organised is as if we are playing a gala! Players really wear out and it affects us. The players can’t play at their best. We are only waiting for our last game we give them a recess.”
Police are fifth with 25 points. Up next is a home game against Express FC on Tuesday.
